Last night, Calliope scored her very first legitimate goal.
There was a cold bite to the evening. The sun was definitely down but night had not yet fallen. And in that 4 versus 4 arrangement, Calliope, a member of last-night's Blue Cat team, managed to time her stance and her kick. It amounted to a low-placed but speedy shot that brilliantly went through 2 defenders and into the goal.
It is at this precise time in the semester when I am reminded, oh, right, THIS is why I coach.
